Hi I'm trying to source a spinnaker for my Sinbad (Cinnamon Sail No.353). Can anyone advise of the foot and leech dimensions that I should be looking for. The tech handbook only seems to mention area (as far as I can see - 27m2). Also what is the overall height for the mast for a mast head rig configuration.

Many thanks,

Mark

Mark,

I have a Seal 22 "Sealia" If it would help I could bring the Spinneker home on Sunday and you can come round and measure it would this help ?.

Let me know by Wendesday 10 June as I'm hoping to go away for a couple of day's dependant on the weather.

Regards

Ray

A spinnaker for a Sinbad will be bigger than for a 22 because it has a masthead rig. I got a spinaker for my Sinbad simply by telling Crusader Sails that it was for a Seal Sinbad and they got it right without any further questions!

As "technical librarian" I suppose I should have all these dims at my fingertips but sadly not (yet!).

I hope you're still tuned in to this thread Mark. I've just dug out the dimensions I took for my RORC CH rating for the RIOW race in 1985!

The main ones you need for ordering a spinnaker are I which was 23' 4" and J 10' 0" These resulted in a spinnaker of SL (luff length) 26' 4" and SMW (max width) 17' 4" which seemed to work pretty well.

The other measurements which may be worth putting on record are

LOA 21' 9"

LWL 18' 0"

Beam 7' 9"

Draft max/min 4'/2'

Displacement 2600lb

P (main luff) 22'9"

E (main foot) 9' 3"

LL (forestay) 27'4"

SPL (pole length) 9' 1"

LP (genoa perpendicular) 13'

We got a Channel Handicap TCF of 0.730
