I guess this is really addressed to Geoff as technical librarian and Ken as Commodore, but has the Assocoiation been able to gather together from Bill Parker a database of "useful information" about suppliers to the now-defunct PLY?

Things like:

Eyebolt for keel lift

Upholstery

WC (mine is the Dutch one)

graphics

etc

John

We discussed this at the last committee meeting in October. There should be articles on the issue in the next newsletter. In short it is anticipated that Bruce Parker will be sourcing some of the more specialised spares.

We will also pursue possible discount / trade arrangements with some key suppliers such as Smiths of Luton, who supply the Dutch loos.

We are trying to make sure that members interests are looked after, but there is only so much we can do as the PSSA.

Hope this helps

Tim

I am now specifically looking for the name and adress of the upholstery firm used by Parkers as I need some new berth cushions.

Last autumn, I had cause to research this, called Bill Parker, got their name, tracked them down, but discovered that they had closed their upholstery manufacturing division down....
