Does any one know the weight of the internal ballast in a 275?
A new rating system (VPRS)has been developed in Poole and we can provide the keel weight (700lbs) but do not know what the internal ballast weight is. This would help Parkers get a fairer rating so your assistance is appreciated.

I have always viewed the "published" displacement figures with considerable scepticism. I believe the SS26 displacement figure from which the figures for its daughters(P27/275/285)is derived only relates to the outboard powered version. An inboard diesel with sterngear tanks etc must add say 200kg.

IMHO the 285 displacement figure is more likely to be correct-after all it is only a 275 with attitude!

This is likely to be my final post as I have bought a fixed keel boat, and my membership of the association will lapse at the end of the year.

Happy sailing to all Parkers and Seals in 2011.
