I have a Seal 22 No. 384 the last one built by John Baker, I am not sure that is relevant, but I have a question. My boat is fitted with a Parker 235 rudder, and very splendiferous it looks too, but I was wondering what you blokes use for a rudder down haul, just rope, rope and bungee, or all bungee cord? seems to me that one needs to exert enough force on it that it will stay down in use, but should I be giving it some elastic so that it can kick up in the event of hitting anything? I am blowed if I know the best way to proceed? Your thoughts and opinions will be gratefully received.

We fitted a Clamcleat CL257, it seems popular with other 235 owners and we will put it to the test ourselves soon. Got it from Speedsails 0845 5040600 £11.80 plus p/p (Good service)

Paul Burton was good enough to post some pics on the forum a while back ...just search clamcleat and you will find quite a lot of info from other forumites too.
