I have a 1995 Parker 275 with a Yanmar 10hp engine. I propose to fit a Flexifold 14x9R folding propeller to the boat as I have used this type of propeller successfully on other boats.

My problem is that I cannot measure the existing shaft size accurately enough.

Can anyone tell me if the shaft is an imperial IMP 1” dia shaft with 1:12 taper or a metric ISO 25mm dia shaft with 1:10 taper.

Has anybody worked this out before when fitting a new propeller?

Last year I installed an Aquadrive which required the shaft to be shortened on Dark Star [1994 P275]- I had it shortened from the prop end to put a new section of shaft in the Cutlass bearings. My shaft was 1 inch OD, and had a 1:12 taper. However, I'd recommend that you check yours with a micrometer, as changes may have been made as the boats evolved.

I have a Brunton Autoprop on the end of the shaft.

I have now checked the shaft diameter of my 1995 275 No. 44 with a micrometer and the shaft is 1" with 1:12 shaft cone.
