Has anyone weighed a parker 27? Having just bought Pied Piper (140) I will need a weight for handicap calculation. The only figure I have seen is on Yachtsnet, which gives a 27 6160lbs compared with Baker Super Seal 5000lbs. Peter Taylor

I’ve not got a 27 but rather a 26 and nor have I weighed it, but had a similar dilemma this year when I updated my ISCRS. For me getting the boat weighed was an expensive option as I keep her in the water all year round. I spoke to the very nice rating lady at the ISC and she had a number of super seals on her database. In the end she suggested a weight of 2800 kg for my 26 with a fixed keel with inboard engine.

Hi Jon, Thank you for that, I have spoken about other matters to the ISC lady you mentioned and yes, she is most helpful. If I can't find anyone that has actually "officially" weighed a 27 I will certainly talk to her. The yard where my boat is lifted out use a crane which I am told has a read out of lifting weight so that will probably give me what I need. Once I know it I will post it on the site for others to use.

We have weighed 275 no 41 (Nehalennia) for racing purposes and she was 2833kg empty and 3358 at 'sailing weight'.

She does have the Yanmar "GM engine so maybe a little heavier than some engine options.

Hi David, Thank you for that,I'm not sure how much difference there is between the 275 and the 27, I believe your keel is heavier, but it seems to indicate 6160 lbs (2750kg)is probably nearer the mark.

P27 no 140 Pied Piper weighed in at 2794kg without sails, fuel, water, anchors etc. ie empty weight.
