Hi Folks,

(Update as of 7 August 2013)

Bembridge Marina do not require bookings so none are being made this time. I guess that they have too much experience of rallies changing plans at the last minute. I suggest that those who have yachts that can take the sand may park on the beach. Sea Lady only takes to mud so I will be pontooning!

The weather forecast is looking good for Saturday and Sunday. I expect to be arriving Friday.

Drinks on or around Sea Lady at 6.30 Saturday (or maybe on the beach if most of the fleet finish up there.)

Light BBQs at 7.00 to 7.30PM. I do not intend to book meals anywhere for the rally. So far we have 6 'definite maybes' for the rally but I am sure that more will appear from the woodwork.

Hi David

I was planning to come with the thought of landing on the beach for a BBQ (and some hull cleaning)as last year. Is that still an option or will the main gathering be at a restaurant/pub?

Regards

Hilary

David

I hope to come.

I much prefer the beach, early pm high water is ideal for that.

As for eve, bbq, eat on board or pub by the beach, I don't fancy that long walk, and back in the dark.

This should be the venue for sandcastles and boule this year.

Hi David

We are aiming to come.

I suspect most will want to be on beach. However reserving some space in the marina could be good for those that don't sit on the sand too well. Also could be good option given south westerlies testing skeg anchors as I discovered!

Those in the marina could travel by the foot ferry for meal in Pilot or beach BBQ.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Hi Mike

The beach is on the port side once you have gone into the harbour. You can't miss it - there will be several boats beaching on it. You have to drop a kedge off the stern as you go in and drop your main anchor on the beach.

Hope you can make it.

Thanks
