I know that the new boats have a seperate gas locker so I thought you might like to see mine which was retrofitted the first winter I had the boat. Finding the right size hatch was easy enough and the wonderful guys at Retreat Boatyard glassed in the back of the shelf making it an airtight box. The vent pipe runs out onto the transom to drain away leaks. I wrapped the gas bottle in a polythene bag because it kept rusting and staining the inside of the locker!

I have pm'ed Kate `to see if she knows which hatch she used but in the meantime anyone else done this? What size/make hatch did you use??
