Help! The lifting keel on my Parker 275 has jammed tight in the downward position after boat yard maintenance. It is a sorry story; replacement acetyl keel sliders were made to the wrong size. I would advise everyone to avoid Versatile Marine when it comes to their fabricating parts service. Anyway, does anyone have a photo of the lifting keel in situ taken from above with the keel box top open? Second best would be a photo of the keel out of the boat so that I can see how the sliders should look from above on the keel.

Jake,

Sorry to hear about the problem. Some photos of my keel when it came out for painting a few years ago are attached. Mine used some penny washers around the bolts as shims for final fit-up.

Regards

Dick

Thanks Dick,

It has finally been sorted out. We made more adjustments and improved the lubrication and it works OK now! We also added a block attached to the keel bolt which has reduced the load on the electric winch.
