Minimosh is fitted with what I think is a Morse Teleflex MI-CD throttle control and she has recently developed a problem in selecting reverse gear. I've narrowed the problem down to the throttle control gears; one of the two teeth on the cast cog wheel which drives the gear selector cog is noticeably worn and sometimes slips into a position which makes it impossible to engage reverse.
Ideally, I'd like to purchase a replacement cogwheel but I suspect this will be a fruitless search. Instead, I'll probably have to fit a complete new throttle control but don't relish fitting a device with a different form-factor.
I've managed to find a second-hand Teleflex MV-2 control which is a later model having the same appearance as the MI-CD but I think it expects 33C cables where I currently have 43C.
Does anyone have sufficient experience to know whether the MV-2 approach is workable or perhaps know of a source of parts for the original MI-CD?
Thanks very much!
Richard
