Parker 275 and Bay of Biscay

Does anyone know what the Recreational Craft Directory rating might be for the Parker 275?

My guess is that it complies with Category B - Offshore, but I can't find anything on the web to confirm or disconfirm this. I'm interested because I'm considering going across the Bay of Biscay next summer, but not sure if it is wise to attempt this in a Parker 275.

Given that the RCD only became mandatory for boats delivered on or after the 16th June 1998, less than a quarter of all P275/P285s will ever have been subject to the RCD, been issued with a copy of the Certificate of Conformity, and physically CE marked.

Based solely on info in past sales adverts, #59 was a P275 built in 1997 [definitely pre RCD], whilst #61 was a P285 built in 1998 [month not stated] so this may help you to narrow the field of past or present owners whom you might approach for the answer to your question.

Miss Fidget's trip across the Bay of Biscay is dealt with in a couple of sentences, clearly not a big deal to that author!

Another thing I have just seen is the e-book published by the chap who was just in trouble off the Alwyn platform, Julian Mustoe and the major trip he did in his boat Harrier of Down. Quite a bit of information there about organising for long trips on a small boat.
