Dear fellow Parker 275 sailors, this my first post as a newbie having purchased Peerless, (kept on the Hamble) looking to purchase a replacement symmetric spinnaker. Parker Guidance seems to be 605sq ft , general sailmaker guidance says go with a luff of 32’ (9.75m) 100% of I measurement and foot width 18’ 11” (5.75m) 180% of J measurement, but that seems smaller than 605sqft .
I’ve found a good used sail on line for sale 34’ luff and 19’ 7” , so 107% of the I measurement and 187% of the J measurement . Grateful for any views of the suitability of a symmetrical spinnaker of a slightly larger size (although by my calculation this would be of an area 606sqft) happy to fit a second ring on mast in a slightly lower position if required.
Thanks for your help
