As the forecast is for another hot summer, can I advise owners of 325/335s to make a canvas rectangle to place over the skylight in the main cabin. I had one made, but only used it towards the end of last season.
The reason--
I found that the surface of the central section of the table in my boat had developed fine cracks in the varnish and the suggestion was that it had been caused by the heat of the sun. Bruce Parker explained that teak 'sweats' and this was the effect.
Parkers took my table, and Bruce stripped and re-spray varnished it. Bill droppped it off last week and I have to say it looks absolutely immaculate (so good in fact that I'm even hesitant to fit it back in the boat). It certainly shows the benefit of having a boat builder with a history in cabinet making.
So - take precautions in time for the Summer sun.
