I've noticed some rudder play on CJ - I was going to have a go at sorting in out when I take the boat out soon- Has anybody done this? I am guessing that I can fit some sleeves or some such.

Any advice welcome before I start the job always welcome.

Thanks

Richard, I have been meaning to do the same for several years now and not got round to it. I had wondered if the next size bolt might do the trick but have not looked carefully enough. Unless you have much more serious wear than I have, I estimated that a sleeve would have to be very thin ... and made of what? S/S or Nylon or?
Elsa (no 103) won't come out of the water for a bit .. so, unless someone else comes up with a solution before then, perhaps we can liase later.
Meantime if you come up with any magic solution I would be grateful if you would post it here.
Cheers, Chris.

I will let you know what happens what ever. I was assuming that I would have to drill out the holes to fit the sleeves - but it might be the pin that has worn - I should find out soon!

Depending on degree of wear, an aluminium Coke can cut into a strip and coiled provides a very fine spacer which might not last forever, but may be a solution.
