Whoops hit the wrong key hence replying to my original blank email!

My anchor chain is still in good condition, but has a lot of surface rust and causes great stains down the hull from the locker drain. Does anyone have any experience of getting chain regalvanised? Is it worth it vis a vis new chain and does anyone know a good source of getting it done?

Any thoughts welcome.

I would suggest you buy new. I bought 20m of 8mm last year for about £75.

If you went for regalvanising, the job of cleaning all the rust off would be yours. There is also a minimum order quantity. I had some stancheons done some years ago, and the results were dissapointing, with the new zinc having poor adhesion to the base steel.
