Hi Folks, look here for continuing updates on this Solent Rally. Thanks for setting this up Geoff.
WHO'S AFLOAT
Those who've indicated they will be around for part or all of the Solent Easter Rally:
Harlequin, Dawn, Zephyr, Breeze, Dancer, Blythe Spirit, Cleo, Vol-au-vent
WEATHER OUTLOOK
As I write, www.ecmwf.int suggests a big blow approaching on Thursday, arriving and departing on Friday and leaving Satuday, Sunday and Monday settled.
ITINERARY
It seems that old habits die hard. The weather is a tad unpredictable for the start of Easter but will settle down. Nothing has been booked yet, but we're tentatively looking at Gosport [Camper and Nicholson's] on Saturday, with a view to dining in the Water Margin (like we do every year) in Gunwharf Quays. We aim for Cowes [Shephards Wharf] on Sunday.
ORGANISER, WHERE ARE YOU?
Vol-au-vent has a communal crane-in on Thursday, subject to weather conditions at Calshot Spit. If not it will be Saturday, but then with the wrong tides to reach Portsmouth. I'll keep in contact via Sue Surplice's mobile phone over Easter. The reason is that my mobile is a work phone and liable to be called by people from countries working over Easter.
QUESTIONS, IDEAS?
Feel free to post comments here.
Looking forward to an Easter rendezvous with many of you,
Ken and Sue/Kate/Paul on Vol-au-vent
