Does anyone have any advice on greasing the keel box? I have been told that it if you apply grease, grit will get caught up in it and turn it into very effective grinding paste. The previous owner had applied plenty of grease so I cleaned the box out as best I could. If greasing is a good idea, what sort of grease would I use? I am looking to make raising the keel as easy as possible. I have already fitted bearing blocks and am considering fitting a thinner keel rope (see Parker 21 "Keel Rope" thread).
