Hi,

I believe like most Seal 22s the forehatch on my Seal 22 cannot be opened at sea unless it is hinged. I can see an definite advantage to doing this for though ventilation on a hot day (I am told we will get one this year).

Has any one made this conversion?
What hinges did you use?
Any problems to watch for?
Has it proved beneficial?

Thanks

Robby

When I had a 22 (Tulena) I fitted a new forehatch as the original was falling apart. I can't believe any are still in use today.
I went to Seateach at Emsworth who still keep a good stock of reasonably priced hatches. I recall I had to infill the corners.
Having said that I would never open the forehatch when under way.
