Hi folks,

I am removing Sea Lady from sale for the time being. I have had some interest but no takers yet.

As you know there is something of a recession coming and I think that it would not be wise spending up to an extra £23,000 on a replacement yacht at this time. (Parker 275/285s are going for £40,000 when they do appear on the market.)

'Pelican' sold recently for £25,000. That would have been ideal but I think that bargains like that will come up rarely. So the choice was one of spending a big heap of cash or being boatless for perhaps a long time.

Anyway, Sea Lady is sluggish in light winds which is why I wanted something a bit quicker in the first place. I am now actively pursuing the possibility of buying a Code Zero (180% - 200% Genoa)as a means of getting around the problem.

Before spending about £1,000 on a Code Zero I need to work out whether the min would create a wind shadow over the Genoa. That involves some arithmetic and trigonometry. Any ideas or experiences?

regards

David
