If you are looking for something less frenetic than the Round the Island Race that weekend Beaulieu is the place to hide away from those maniac racers. We are very fortunate that we can use this venue for the only rally that the estate permits at the top of the beautiful Beaulieu River. We raft up alongside a very rustic quay next to the mill. Just keep going up the river until you see the battle flags. There is access to the quay approximately 2hrs 30mins either side of high water (HW Portsmouth 18.26) but if you haven’t been before we recommend that you come up on the rising tide. There is always a good turn out and lots of assistance with mooring. It’s also an ideal event if you are coming by car.

In the evening join us for drinks on the quay, followed by a barbeque (DIY) then perhaps a nightcap in the Montague Arms.

You can tell when prospects for the weekend's weather start to look up, so do our numbers. At last count we had 11 boats: Elsa, Jan's Express, Less, Lucky Devil, Rascal, Shockwave, Sophia, Sunflower, Tara, Tiptoe Too and Vol-au-Vent.
It's all looking good here (Tara has already arrived). The grass is a bit soggy with all the rain and spring tides but the nice weather coming will fix that, and the bottom has been cleared of nasty boulders. I don't know where they all come from.
