I got a spinnaker with Andiamo when I bought her, but I have never tried it out. This season's goal is to get it flying! I have got the sail, haliard, sheets, blocks, winches and a pole. However, my pole is only 2.8 m long and I think it should be 3.7 m (the distance from the pole fitting on the mast to the stem head. Any experts out there who could set me right?

Cheers! Neil

Hello Neil

My pole is now 3.7m, it was about 6 inches longer, but I cut it shorter to fit between the fitting on the mast and the stem head. It makes a nice grab rail when working on the fore deck.

Hi Mike - so my pole is too short. What diameter is your pole? I might be able to extend mine a bit if its not too spindly. It's 2 inches in diameter.

Cheers! Neil

hello Neil

At first I thought 2 inches was a bit small, but I have just found the bit I cut off, in the shed, and it is exactly 2 inches diameter.

I must admit that Aztec did not have a spinnaker, only a cruising chute, but I should think the pole would be the same for both.
