Putting in a new electric windlass. Has anyone taken the power source from the ram.

Also concerned that the ram which has 6 gauge wire from the battery isn't protected by a switch/fuse. So when the battery is on the ram is on all the time. In light of a major yacht fire in Parkstone marina a few months ago, burned to ash in a very short time, and cause suspected as electrical.

The keel power pack on our 335 draws around 110A as the keel comes up so I added a fuse; 200A from memory.

Also I have a fuse in the link between the two domestic systems batteries.
