Newtown creek rally / 18th August
I left the Hamble sailing solo with wind and tide against me, the wind freshening all the time , got as far as Calshot spit only doing about 2 knots and water running down the weather rail ,after the third OR fourth dousing i decided it was not such a good idea and turned round and headed for home
"Lara 2" a Parker 31 form Poole was the only boat to attend.John texted me to say the BBQ food was made into a casserole and eaten aboard watching the rain
M wife Jenny decided to stay home and do some gardening had several Phone calls from people cancelling as weather was not good.
Perhaps September will bring better weather!
