PSSA PennantWelcome to the Parker & Seal Sailing Association (PSSA)

The Calendar of events for 2024 is now on the website. Some events still need organisers so if you can help please contact the committee.

As we have to book marinas and restaurants in advance, please see the rally details for the date to register /enrol for the rally.   This also helps the organiser manage the attendees with information. Remember you must be logged on to enrol

As you will have now been on your sailing adventures for the season, don't forget to submit you photos for the 2024/2025 Photo competition, Theme 'Distant shores'

Location:

Description:

As the Royal Vic rally sadly has had to be cancelled, i've got another location for that weekend.

I have spoke with Eling Sailing Club and they are happy to accomodate us on the Saturday night.

HW Southampton - 09:18 and 21:48.

It's not the best tide, so i suggest you get there in the morning.  "Acess is 1 hour before HW to 3 hours after - ie. 08:18 to 12:18 and then 20:48.  Access to pontoons with 1m of water is about 3.2m on Southampton VTS website tide gauge"

There is a Gas BBQ there, so hopefully if the weather is good, we can use that.

Although the bar usually closes at 16:00, we have asked them to stay open a little later.

Access to Eling SC:

Into the Harbour

Follow the channel in, maintaining a distance of approximately 2 meters from the posts passing them on your Starboard side.

As you approach the bend in Creek turn to Port and stay about 3 meters from quay wall (beside containers).

You will see a slipway to starboard, and some parked craft, aim to pass astern of these with about 2 meters clearance.

Ahead there’s a post with a tidal gauge, pass this to Port.

Final Approach

Ahead you’ll see the Tide Mill and adjoining Club House, the visitor berths are immediately in front of this building.

PPlease let me know if you intend to come along, and i can let the mooring master know how many boats to expect.

More news...

The PSSA is the class association for Parker and Seal lift keel yachts and other types of shallow draft yachts.
As an active, friendly club with almost 350 members, it organises rallies, social events and an annual race around the Isle of Wight.
Seals and Parkers are British-built yachts, ranging in length from 21' to 33', mostly with lifting keels. They started with the Seal 22 in 1970, built by John Baker, and followed by the Seal 28 and Super Seal 26. In 1981, Bill Parker took over the range and added the Parker 21, Parker 27 and Parker 31. These then evolved into a high-quality range of cruiser-racers built by Parker Lift-Keel Yachts - the trailable Parker 235, the Parker 285 and the Parker 335. In 2009, Parker Lift-Keel yachts ceased trading.
