Bosham Quay

Bosham quay is a beautiful Sussex village, The quay sits at the heart of the village, which has a lively Sailing club next door

The surrounding coastline is owned and managed by Bosham Manor, and the harbour master has an office at the head of the quay. Calling ahead to harbour master will get a very helpful team that will set up for coming alongside including providing barge boards and also large fenders. Make sure you are alongside one of the ladders otherwise getting on and off at low tide can be hard work

The approach is fairly straight forward between the south cardinal post and the west cardinal post. The area off the quay is protected by a row of posts that keep a naturally dredged channel alongside the quay wall

It may prove useful especially if there is a strong wind from the west to try and come alongside starboard-to so you are facing into the wind, which makes departure a little easier

The quay which runs along the north side of the channel is soft mud which allows boats to sit confortabley on the bottom, whereas the quay wall at the east end of the channel has a concrete scrubbing grid. Staying on the scrubbing grid is more expensive than the normal quay berth

There is a pub, an interesting church and a couple cafes in the village which has tidal roads alongside the waters edge. There is a Coop and cafe approximately 1 mile to the north
