I found that my ladders were to short for getting back on board after a swim so I extended them and hopefully next time it will not prove to be to difficult.

Hi Gary & Ruth,

As a matter of interest, have you treated the wooden steps on the ladders, if so how?

I have just taken mine off and cleaned up the metalwork etc and re-riveted, but unsure as to whether to oil or varnish the wood!

Thanks

John

Hi John,

No we haven't got around to treating the steps yet, they do need doing and I will use Sadolin. I have used this product on hardwood garden benches in the garden and have some left over,it seems to do the job well.

I have used Tung Oil, the advantage being that it can be applied and dries in an hour or so.
