Hope no one minds our introducing "Skipper" to the membership he is our ships mascot and is made welcome wherever we go. Does anyone else sail with man's best friend aboard? We have sailed with him aboard our Swift 18 and found he needed more room hence our new aquisition of "Juicy Blue" P235 it should prove interesting next season how he takes to her. Gary/Ruth/Skip

He currently sails with three dogs on board, but at one time had 4 (or was it 5?) I recall the Association gave him a prize for the most feet on a PSSA boat!

We often sail with our 11 year old "Lady" a cross breed Battersea rescue dog. As she is getting older she is less happy, but last year we sailed with 4 adults around the solent for a week and she was fine. If it gets rough, we put her in the cabin in her basket between the bunks, where she can see us and we can see her. Seems to work reasonably well

Hi,

We are hoping to get our 4 year old Jack Russell, "Charlie", used to going sailing, but the wife says "wWat about the mess where will he go to the toilet?" Despite my assurances that we can tow him behind until job done (he has a life jacket) she is not reassured.

How do you deal with this situation?

We don't make long passages anymore so a good run before we set off suffices his needs if we do have to stop on route we pick out a suitable beach, detour,lift up the keel and let him off to do his business.Failing that he has to cross his legs[:)]
