I have the standard Marechal 38 A alternator. With the help of a small solar panel, it keeps my batteries well charged. Some time ago, I did have a battery disconnect accident and the alternator stopped working. A local repairer fixed it and it's been fine ever since. The premises are unfortunately empty, now. I am a bit more careful with the battery switch, too. If your alternator is not working, though, check the ignition light on the engine control board is ok and has +12 v on one side and is properly connected to alternator terminal 61 on the other side before you spend any money! There is only one other important wire and that is from alternator B+ to the starter motor +12 v terminal.
