You can dip into and out of the rally at any time.

Friday 28th – Sail to join the Clacton Airshow – exact timings yet to be published but generally about 1300. This year we will aim to meet up at the southern end of the designated area as we will be sailing on to the Blackwater after the show. As usual this will be very weather dependent.

After the show we will have to buck the tide (and possibly the wind!) to reach Mersea, where we have booked in for spaces on moorings. There is a ferry service ashore and we aim to have an evening get together in the Mersea Yacht Club.

Saturday 29th – A day of using the tides to sail up the Blackwater to Maldon on the rise and returning to Bradwell on the fall. We are booked into Bradwell marina for the night and should aim to enter about half tide. Meal in the Green Man.

Sunday 30th – Depending on whether you are aiming to sail north or south, leave to take the tide either in the morning or afternoon. For those planning on sailing north we will probably go for a walk to St Peter’s chapel in the morning with a view to leaving at high water and take the ebb back north. Overnight at anchor in the Walton Backwaters.

Monday 31st – leave as appropriate to take the tide in either direction.

The PSSA is the class association for Parker and Seal lift keel yachts and other types of shallow draft yachts.
As an active, friendly club with almost 350 members, it organises rallies, social events and an annual race around the Isle of Wight.
Seals and Parkers are British-built yachts, ranging in length from 21' to 33', mostly with lifting keels. They started with the Seal 22 in 1970, built by John Baker, and followed by the Seal 28 and Super Seal 26. In 1981, Bill Parker took over the range and added the Parker 21, Parker 27 and Parker 31. These then evolved into a high-quality range of cruiser-racers built by Parker Lift-Keel Yachts - the trailable Parker 235, the Parker 285 and the Parker 335. In 2009, Parker Lift-Keel yachts ceased trading.
