I am the new owner of Parker 235 No. 30. As the boat is new to me I would like to lift the keel out for inspection and maintenance. I don't have easy access to machinery or crane to lift it. I was considering getting a lifting frame made so I could do it myself without towing the boat to a yard. I did notice a discussion from about 16 year ago by Gary, the owners of Juicy Blue, about a frame he got made. There seemed to be photos etc but I wasn't able to find them. If anyone has photos or drawings of such a frame I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank both very much. The frame looks much lighter than I would have thought.

I have spoken to a few people who have recommended not taking the keel right out. Unfortunately the trailer I have has a metal bar which the keel rests on so I can't drop it down to get the lower portion.

I am weighing up:

-frame to lift the keel

-heavy frame to lift the boat

-yard stand and pay for a telescopic loader each year to lift the boat

I am going to replace the keel lifting blocks with ball bearing ones to reduce the friction when I do the lifting eyes and line.

The boatyard, where I keep mine, have a fork-lift truck which is used to launch smaller boats, and if I ask nicely in the winter, to lift the keel up/and out if needed.

I guess any of that type of machine would work!
